Bramley War Memorial was constructed during the Summer of 2014, against the clock, so that it could be unveiled on Monday, 4th August, 2014 – the Centenary of declaration of War on Germany by Great Britain and the date recognised as the commencement of World War One.

The architect of the Memorial was John Thorp, retired Leeds Civic Architect with the Project Architect, local man, Warren Horner.
Leeds City Council Parks and Countryside, under the direction of Guy Smithson had the responsibility of clearing and constructing the site at the entrance to Bramley Park.
